Guest Review of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel

My husband, and I wanted a nice, romantic, easy going mini vacation. I
came across the Sheraton Wall Center, in beautiful, close to home, and very
diverse city of Vancouver. I choose the Club upgrade, king room, w/t
a private, small balcony, floor to ceiling windows, flat screen t.v., very clean
bedding, bathroom, room in general. The whole hotel was
fantastic, layout, decor, marble, tile, wood, height (very high ceilings, and
open). The pool, hot tub, extensive gym areas, sauna, and change rooms were
exceptionally clean, well laid out. Towels, locks, and (hair dryers, woman's
only) are provided. The hotel property is very large for downtown Vancouver, and
decorated quite well, and extensively with beautiful, exquisite winter lights
around all the property's many trees.
Parking with tax was $40.00 from check-in, to check-out. I would suggest if you
do not need your vehicle to explore out of city as we were, and are staying for
more than 1 night, then either hire a limo with transfer from point A to B(different,
cheaper rates, and you can relax, maybe with a drink or two, ask a limo
company), taxi, sky-train, or bus. Overall, great experience, and would
definitely go again!

I live here and I have stayed at a few downtown hotels for conferences and other
events. The ones that are most comparable are the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the
Hyatt Regency and the Wall Centre. Let me start by saying that for the rooms
alone, the Sheraton is superior to the Hyatt and the Fairmont. Service was
excellent at both the Sheraton and the Hyatt. The Sheraton is a little further
down Burrard, away from Gastown, the Seabus and perhaps the more touristy part
of town. But it is within easy walking distance of all these sight, and closer
to trendy Yaletown than the other two. I haven't stayed at the Waterfront or the
Pan Pacific, but for the money, the best bet is the Sheraton Wall Centre. Best
mattress hands down!

I've stayed at this property more than a few times over the years. They always
deliver a good experience. The only little odd issue is that the hotel is spread
out between two towers, with a third tower of condos in between. You may get
delivered to one lobby, only to be sent packing (about a hundred metres) to
another building, to your room. Elevators in the building I usually end up in
are located in two spots, as well, so you may get turned around once or twice.
Other than that, the hotel is great. Staff are professional. Rooms are modern
and in good shape. Rooms can be a somewhat unusual shape, due to the curved
walls, and that gets reflected in the bathrooms, as well, but no issue with
this. It's actually a bit of a plus from my perspective, as it isn't the norm.
Rooms are quiet. HVAC works and is not too noisy. Great beds, but keep the
temperature in the room turned down if you're going to keep the heavy duvet on.
It's pretty warm. With my Starwood membership, they always have a couple of
bottles of water available, and there is a mini fridge to keep them cool. Big
LCD TV with lots of channels. Should be everything you want.
Great central location, on Robson, near a train station, etc.

I stayed in the Club Intrawest section (the top 3 floors) of the Sheraton Wall
Centre for a shopping weekend in Vancouver this past weekend. While it was my
first time at this Club Intrawest location, it was essentially just as I
expected from the reviews here. There was a sweet Club lounge on the 29th floor
and, as Intrawest members, we enjoyed full access to the Sheraton's facilities.
The hotel was extremely clean and most aspects were in working order.
Unfortunately the music player in my room was stuck on MAXIMUM volume and
neither I, nor the maintenance tech, was able to fix it! I was disappointed to
have no tunes during my stay. On another note, the pool and workout facility at
this hotel appeared a bit of an afterthought due to the small size and odd
location. When I asked front desk how to get to the pool etc, it was a rather
convoluted route of ducking through hallways between conference rooms and
storage areas..thankfully it was evening and there were no events on! It was the
end of the day when we ventured down to the hot tub/pool, but the place was in
disarray and badly needed to be cleaned. Other common areas, such as the lobby
and restaurant, have been given much more attention with their updated decor,
etc. However, if you are just stopping in for a quick stay, don't let this
discourage you. Another thing I found a bit irritating was how early the
attendants began slamming doors and cleaning on Sunday morning. It was
definitely before 9am and it was far too loud to sleep!
I thought it was decent that the parking attendants let me keep my car in the
parkade for a few hours beyond checkout, so that I could finish my shopping
without having to pay to park at another location. Not all hotels are this
flexible. All in all, I would likely return to this place for the fantastic
location and beautiful views!
