It is situated on a W. Pender Street, which the public transportation system is
very accessible, whether train, bus or sea bus. It is near to convenience stores
and fast food. It is very near to the downtown city's attractions like the
Harbour Center, 20-min bus to Stanley Park, and 10-min sea bus ride to Lonsdale
Quay. Though situated on a busy street, the room is sound-proof. The room is
compact, but the quality and cleanliness of the room makes up for it. Customer
service is excellent.
We stayed for one-night and the breakfast is more than continental. It included
generous bagels, danishes, cereals, orange juice, fruits and has pancake-styled
scrambled eggs. The breakfast-attendant make sure there is always abundant
supply, utensils are complete, and the tables/chairs are clean/ready for the
next occupants. We have given her a generous tip, though not required, which is
worth taking the breakfast than grabbing one from to-go-breakfast station/s.
One downside is the aisles'/corridor's smell due to dampness. Probably worth the
management to invest further in forced heated ventilation. Don't worry, the
faint smell doesn't go inside the bedrooms.
Definitely worth the stay, will even do it next time --- a good bang for the
buck!
TIP: Staying in the rooms at the west side of the hotel would able to see the
Harbour Center Tower.

We stayed in Ramada Downtown Vancouver for 2 nights before we took the Alaska
cruise. The hotel is located close to the seafront as well as the historic gas
town. The room was a trifle small, and had a view of the terrace of other
buildings-so not great. But, once we got out of the hotel and walked out we were
right in the heart of downtown and the water front. All the tours had a pick up
point at the hotel itself. The breakfast was in a basement room. It was minimal
with no hot food like omelets etc, but was sufficient. The staff at the front
desk were very helpful and I will surely choose the same hotel if I were to go
again.

The hotel is just one block off the Gastown district, which is convenient but
also close to some less than desirable parts of the city. That is the only
negaitve comment. The desk personnel were fabulous, valet helpful, and the
facilities remarkably like many European hotels. The breakfast room in the
basement was particularly continental, and the meal was quite sufficient. We
even had a whirlpool tub in our room and did not request it. For the price,
could not be beat!

Helpful, friendly staff, great room and bed, good breakfast. Easy access to
sights in downtown Vancouver BC and also only a short walk to the sky train.
Good value too. So much better quality/price ratio than the Sheraton I stayed at
afterwards (which was nice but charged extra for every little thing, including
WiFi, which the Ramada doesn't).

The hotel did meet my need and is well located. The flooring in the room made
squeaking noise when you walked on it. The hotel is well located to downtown
Vancouver. The hotel staff was friendly and pleasant. It is not in the safest
area but just don't park on the street there is a parking lot about 2 blocks
down from the hotel or you can do valet parking. But overall the hotel served our
need best.

Room is quite cramped, as the bed is nearly 2 feet away from the bathroom
entrance. The rooms are tiny and the continental breakfast was average. Other
then that, staff were friendly and full of smiling faces. The hotel was quite
well kept, clean and the location is quite good. The air conditioner in the room
is quite large, obtrusive and noisy. Bathroom is tiny. Not the nicest shower
head but not the worst.

The staff were very pleasant, informative and knowledgeable. The rooms, although
small, were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the convenience of the
location of the hotel and were able to walk to most of the historic downtown,
Yaletown and Gas Town. Inexpensive bus service to Stanley Park is also a very
easy walk from the hotel.

This hotel was perfectly nice for the price we paid. It was conveniently located
in central Vancouver and the desk staff were very helpful with directions and
recommendations. The breakfast buffet was a little underwhelming but it was a
fast and free way to grab a quick bite.

Hotel was very accommodating for our one night stay in Vancouver. A good stay
for one night if getting there a day before cruise. Employees were very polite
and very helpful.

This hotel was my first stay in Vancouver before moving out in the Spring. I
found the check in was painless and efficient. They staff were very
knowledgeable and easy to approach. The area is ok- I was not intimidated to
walk in the area after dusk and the front entrance was well lit. Lobby was
refreshing and well updated. Elevator was a little slow. Room was pleasant and
well lit. Temperature was well regulated and room had tasteful decor. Window did
not open all the way and was frosted- a bit of a bother. T.V. stopped working my
first night there. Phone call to front desk got me the duty manager and the TV
was replaced (or fixed- not sure which) the next day. Bathroom was clean and
well maintained. Water pressure was hit and miss. Room price was decent value,
however there is no on-site parking and valet to a parking lot is $20.00/ day,
which I found a little unfair. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked at 7:30
AM, 8 AM, 9:15 AM and 10:10 AM. Housekeeping staff was friendly and willing to
address any concerns. Hallways were clean and looked un-traveled (a rare
occurrence in many hotels). Stairways were clean and properly maintained. Valet
service is sometimes backed up in the mornings, so call half hour ahead of time.
Site does not have a pool or sauna- but I think it is acceptable for the area
and age of the hotel. The building is a gem, and more surprising it is very well
maintained. Many of these old buildings used as hotels are not kept up properly
due to maintenance issues and costs, but that was not so in this case. Very
impressed with staff and management.

We spent two nights here before our Alaskan cruise and were very pleased. Room
was very up to date with a comfortable bed. Breakfast had good variety but the
breakfast room was hot.
People at the desk were very helpful. Very good value.

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff were all incredibly friendly and
helpful, and happy to answer any questions.
The room was on the small side but perfectly big enough and what you'd expect
from a city centre hotel. There was still plenty of room to put things away. The
bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the bedding looked brand
new. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was always hot and had good
pressure.
The breakfast was good and had a surprisingly large selection. The only problem
was that it was so hot in the room, and gets quite crowded.
We thought the hotel's location was excellent, and easy walking distance to most
of the sights. In fact we walked everywhere, even to stanley park but that might
be too far for some people. Yes there are homeless people but no more than
anywhere else in the city. We felt perfectly safe but we didn't go out after
dark so can't comment on what it was like then.
The only negatives about our stay were that when we arrived the carpet in our
room wasn't hoovered properly, although it was the next morning, and that
although we heard no street or other guest noise, there was a really loud but
unidentifiable white noise coming from the corridor. It may have been a fan or
something like that but although it didn't keep us awake it was intrusive.
Overall though I'd highly recommend this hotel.
