Review of the Quality Inn Hotel Vancouver
November 2, 2011
We stayed in May, 2011. Room was basic but had everything we needed.
Check-in/out was smooth and friendly. Great location close to everything
downtown, plus water taxis to Granville Market nearby. Pool was closed
due to the chilly weather. Not fancy but decent accommodation.

Clean and comfortable. Some noise from construction. Beds were
comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it was in simple terms...OK. Nearly gave it
2 stars compared to some other hotels we have stayed in.
Good points -
The room was a reasonable size with 2 double beds and the room was clean
and tidy. Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful.
Not so good points -
It is a bit tatty around the edges and could really do with a little
updating. Also there is construction taking place both sides of the
hotel, so you will be in for a 7.30 wake up call - it is very loud!!
It is not in the best location within Vancouver, although Van is very
walkable it is away from the main part of the city for eating our and
shopping etc.

Good clean and well equipped rooms. An excellent location just 1 block
off Granville Street at the corner of Drake and Howe. A few blocks from
False Creek and water Taxis to Granville Island with its shops, Market
and restaurants. An easy walk up Granville to stores, restaurant and
Rolston st. (shopping Mecca). Its a stop for the major Hop-on-Hop-off
tours. Great Value...Stephen L. at the front desk is a great source of
info on Vancouver and goes out of his way to help and make you feel
welcome

We stayed here for three nights in a queen suite. Our room had a full
kitchen, small eating area, living room (with a sleeper sofa), and
separate bedroom with a closed in part that likely used to be a balcony
(but that made getting fresh air in and overall temperature control a
challenge). Our room was towards the end of a hall and it was very
quiet. It was plenty roomy for a family of four that included two small
children (ages 2 and 6). Staff was very nice at check in (Jacob at the
front desk was fabulous - we thanked him when we saw him again at check
out). Even though many were waiting, they found us a room at 10 in the
morning as we had a very tired 2 year old. For the rest of our part
whose rooms were not ready, they easily stored their luggage. The hotel
was fine. It would benefit from an update of the rooms. Our dining table
was wobbly and furniture and decor were not terrible, but a bit tired.
The elevator was a challenge. The doors would close as soon as everyone
unloaded but before anyone else could get on and then would leave -
pushing the up button again did not reopen the doors. And there are not
enough elevators for the number of guests, so it actually can be a
pretty lengthy wait to get up and down if you cannot use stairs. We had
a stroller so had to depend on the elevators. The location was a bit
removed from most of what you would want to see in Vancouver. We really
like to walk and walked to most things, but the only close walk was to
the ferries to go to Granville Island. Everything else was a lengthy or
very long walk. In other words, you get what you pay for and in
Vancouver, much of that is about location.
