We have just came from our trip for 1 week long stay in pan pacific
hotel...it was a nice hotel big but the room was nothing special...we
had a problem with the TV and they told us to unplug and plug in
everytime u want to watch TV! we were not happy with this. It is very
expensive and you have to pay for every single thing in this hotel the
parking was around $35 a day and breakfast was not included....the
location is nice. I will never come back to this hotel.

We were going on a cruise out of Vancouver. We found this hotel and were
told they would take our luggage directly to the port for us, so we
thought it was perfect. Well they only will take your luggage if your
ship is leaving from the port right there. Well our ship the Norwegian
Star was leaving out of Ballantyne port so we ended up taking 2 taxis
with us to the port. It was ok but this time the taxi driver tried to
get us for extra money. This happened to us in New York before we had
mom and Aunt Shirley take a cab and John and I did. Mom's cab got there
almost 20 minutes after us and they charged them double our cost. This
time John and mom went in one and got there is like 7 minutes and myself
and Aunt Shirley got there in 20 minutes and said I thought he was
abusing us and he said no but when we got to the port John was furious
that our driver went way out of the way to triple charge us. So I just
did not give him a tip. Watch out. Anyway back to the Pan Pacific it is
absoultly wonderful. We had great rooms in a corner so they connected to
each other and were huge. Beautiful views of the city and in a great
location. The only thing we did not like was the restaurants were way
out of line in prices. But you can walk down these stairs in the hotel
and go to a underground food court and get very reasonable priced items.

Nicely decorated room, but quite small. Once your bags are there, it's
hard to move around. Not much area to sit, except an uncomfortable weird
chair. Bathroom was basic. Staff weren't very friendly, and certainly
weren't smiling. They even asked my guest for picture ID! They didn't
offer to take our bags, or assist us. They didn't tell us there was a
pool, no idea until we checked out the next day. Parking was incredibly
far away, at a very busy, dimly-lit parkade. At least an 8 minute walk.
Mini fridge was hard to get at - in a tv built-in and at my feet. At
least the bed was very comfortable with nice linens.

We had a very pleasant stay ( 2 rooms for the family). The rooms were
very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable (down pillows and
bolsters). All the small amenities were there, from a centrifuge used to
dry your swim wear to top quality bathroom accessories. The heated pool
is outside on the 8th floor with a Jacuzzi. Both were clean and well
maintained. The city view was outstanding, from the curved / bay type
windows. I dont think I'd bother paying extra for the harbour view.
My only beef is with the multitude of small and not so small charges.
The internet can run up to $14.95/day depending on what speed you
select, DVD player is $10, Parking $35-40/day, newspaper $2/day,
connecting rooms at $30 extra, etc. Most of this stuff is complimentary
or at least much less expensive in other similar hotels that I've stayed
in, in other cities, although parking in Vancouver does seem to be in
this range.
Overall, it was a pleasant couple of days, and I would definitely stay
there again.
