Beau, the retired Guide Dog is lying there, next to the Concierge Desk,
looking at you with those wistful eyes. Yes, you can walk this loveable
animal, as I did, both mornings that we stayed at this very charming
place...more like a nice welcoming home rather than a hotel.
Situated 2 blocks from either of 2 Skytrain Stations, and smack in the
middle of downtown with all of its surrounding amenities. An Ideal place
from which to explore the city.
Clean, quiet..huge walk-in closets, bathrooms with plenty of elbow room.
An ordinary room has all of this space...I would love to see the suites.
4 entrances on each side of the building, but use the southern doors,
where taxis and cars are lined up, to avoid steps .
Small, but well maintained fitness facility, and a pool.
Friendly, helpful staff. Wifi does cost around $10/day, but there is a
McDonald's one half block away beside a Tim Horton's, and plenty, of
Starbucks, Blenz, etc for free wifi. Alternatively, the beautiful
Coliseum-like Vancouver Public Library is just a 15 minute walk down the
street for computer/internet use.

My partner and I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on 2 separate
occasions during our 4 week holiday in Vancouver and Canadian Rockies.
We stayed for 4 nights in September, on our arrival to Vancouver and
loved it so much we returned for 3 nights at the end of our stay in
October.
The rooms were spacious, nicely presented, clean and contained all the
amenities we required. Relaxing music quietly playing throughout the
room on our arrival along with some edible goodies and a welcome card
(personally signed by the concierge's) was a lovely touch. The bed was
comfy and a "pillow menu" allows a selection of pillows to suit you. The
bathroom was clean and spacious and rooms attended twice daily.
We stayed on the private "gold" floor and must give credit to all the
staff, especially all the Concierge, who really went out of their way to
make us feel welcome, assist us and made us feel special. The lounge on
the gold floor offers a great smorgasbord of fresh fruits and other
yummy things for breakfast, a cocktail hour in the evenings as well as
fresh coffee/teas for morning/afternoon tea.
The hotel is well located in the middle of town, within walking distance
to the train station, Canada Place, shopping arcades and restaurants. We
dined at Griffins Restaurant (located within the hotel complex) twice
during our stay and had the most delicious meals. The prime rib was to
die for. Service was excellent and friendly.
Would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

A beautiful hotel done over meticulously, with all the modern amenities
you could want. Great pool and hottub, very well appointed fitness
center, open 24hrs, pool until 10:30. Beautiful spacious rooms, friendly
and helpful staff everywhere. Cute yellow labs for if you miss your own
pets at home. Great service any time you need it. It doesn't get much
better than this.
Location is right in the heart of downtown, with Robson street, Pacific
Center mall, Granville street and all kinds of shopping , restaurants
and attractions right outside your hotel.
We live in Vancouver, and love to stay here as a getaway for a night.

Not our original booking, and more expensive than we had planned, but
excellent quality. Didn't use the restaurant in the evening on either
day but the breakfasts were excellent and the bar was too. Very well
located and very nice rooms. |
