Hotel Review of the Cascadia Hotel And Suites
Vancouver

The hotel is just about 2 blocks from the Vancouver Seawall which allows
you to walk all the way around the beachy area to Stanley Park. A few
blocks in the other direction finds you in Yaletown and a little further
to shopping on Robson Street. It makes a weekend in Vancouver very
walkable - we had our car but didn't use it at all.
The hotel staff is extremely friendly, from the front desk to the
housekeeping and breakfast staff. As others have mentioned, the included
breakfast is quite expansive with lots of choices. We left a clothing
item in the room - I had called but housekeeping didn't find it. I
received the usual post-stay email thanking me and asking for any
feedback. I wrote to say that we had a nice stay but were disappointed
that the clothing item didn't turn up, as we were absolutely certain we
left it in the room. The General Manager responded very quickly and
copied the front desk and housekeeping managers - in the end they found
the item mixed in with the laundry service and shipped it back to me!
The room was a bit smaller than I had expected - we had a "suite" with
two queen beds. It is more like a large hotel room with a kitchenette
along one wall and a couch added (there was a desk but no table/chairs
for eating). Not all of the couches have a pull-out mattress so you
might want to double-check if you are counting on that!
I thought the rates were a bit high (US$225), but it was a celebration
weekend with a large fireworks show and the finish line for a big
bicycle race so that could have impacted it. It seemed to be a favored
choice for international travelers - lots of different accents around!
Overall, I would recommend.

We stayed 9 nights. It was in the best location for us only 4 blocks
away from the sea wall and Granville isle. We were able to walk from one
end of the city to the other. You do not need a car, the transportation
in the city is great. The trolley for sightseeing stopped right outside
the hotel. If you like to ride bikes they have great bike paths.
The breakfasts were great.
We will definitely return again
Tip -when taking sky train from airport into town it has a surcharge of
$5.00 plus zone price . The city is divided into zones, zone 1 - $2.25,
zone two $3.75 and so forth. You can find what zone you are going to on
the ticket machine. We paid $8.75 pp to get into centre of town from
airport. When going out to airport you only pay zone price.

Spent two nights here on arrival in Canada. The journey in from the
airport was ok, despite the longish and hillyish walk from the nearest
underground station. After that, the location worked well enough-
particularly if you went down the hill on to the water ferry and over to
the island. The best thing about the place, however, was the room
itself- a good size with good facilities and plenty of utensils etc. In
the morning, there was a good free breakfast with plenty of choice. In
the lobby were two computers for complimentary use, again a good touch.
The only down part were the lifts- you waited for ages! Otherwise, a
handy and fairly inexpensive introduction to the city.

Due to a medical emergency, I walked in off the street with no
reservation and they bent over backwards to help me out. I found the
hotel to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. (I am in my sixties
and have stayed in many over the years) The price was very reasonable,
the room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and everything in the room
worked. (that is something I have rarely experienced before). As far as
I am concerned this is the first place I will come to if I need a hotel
room in Vancouver in the future
