Peace Arch Border into Canada and Vancouver

Peace Arch or Douglas Crossing is the main border crossing it is a fairly symbolic crossing with the Peace Arch Monument. It is an attractive crossing with special attention given to its park like setting with flowers and garden areas. Border Wait Times

After crossing the border you will have entered Surrey BC if you continue on Hwy 99 it takes you through Richmond BC and into Vancouver. It is about a 35 minute drive to Downtown Vancouver from there. Border Crossing Tips

When approaching the Canadian Border at Blaine Washington there is a digital reader board on the highway that will give estimated wait times at the border crossings. The Douglas crossing can be a good option as not all travellers especially first time tourist to the area know about , it is an extra 5-10 minutes driving time to get off Hwy 5 and back on to Hwy 99 in Canada but heavy border traffic can easily make up for this. If you are crossing often you may want to look into Nexus which is a pre clearance ID that allows you to cross the border in a express lane.

The main border crossing is the Peace Arch/Blaine crossing. The Peace Arch is the most beautiful and popular of the local crossings and is open 24 hours.
