The Pacific Highway Crossing is where the Commercial trucks and buses cross. Cars also
cross here, if you want Duty free Goods to bring into Canada you will have to
cross here as well.
Border Wait TimesTo get back onto Hwy 99 continue on 176 Street and take the first left at the
light on to 8th Ave, you will approach a round about that allows you to exit

When approaching the Canadian Border at Blaine Washington there is a digital
reader board on the highway that will give estimated wait times at the border
crossings. The Pacific Highway Crossing can be a good option as not all travellers
especially first time tourist to the area know about , it is an extra 5-10
minutes driving time to get off Hwy 5 and back on to Hwy 99 in Canada but heavy
border traffic can easily make up for this. If you are crossing often you may
want to look into
Nexus which is a pre clearance ID that allows you to cross the border in a
express lane. There is a truck crossing near the Peace Arch border
crossing because no commercial vehicles are allowed to cross at the Peace Arch.
This crossing is also open 24 hours a day and cars are allowed; however, if the
Peace Arch crossing is backed up, the truck crossing is almost always backed up
as well. |
