Georgia Street, more officially West Georgia Street, is
probably one of the most important street in
Downtown Vancouver. It
serves as the major corridor connecting downtown Vancouver through to Stanley
park and over Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore.

From the east the westbound traffic comes over the Georgia Viaduct from Prior
Street and Main Street until it reaches
Stanley Park, the centre lane of
Georgia Street has it approaches Stanley park is used as a counter flow lane.
The very busy intersection of Georgia and Burrard
Street is considered to be the centre point of the city.
Georgia Viaduct's entry point is between BC Place and GM Place. A number of
important landmarks and top attractions, are located along Georgia Street. These
include Stanley Park in the west, the Royal Centre, The
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver,
The Four Seasons Hotel , The
Hyatt Regency
Vancouve, the Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Centre, Pacific Centre, the
Granville Entertainment District, while the Theatre District, including
Playhouse Theatre
Company and the Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts,
GM Place and
BC Place Stadium
all lie to the east.
The Burrard Street Skytrain Station is steps away
and probably your best stop for access to most attractions. |
