Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club |
Shaughnessy is a traditional private golf club for the
enjoyment of its members and their guests.
Golf Course
Shaughnessy is a well-treed parkland style course overlooking the Fraser River
and Strait of Georgia. The course was built in 1960 and many of the beautiful
trees were donated and planted by the members at that time.
There are more than 150 species of trees on the property and they flower at
different times between March and September providing a continuing beauty to the
surroundings. Some of the large firs and cedars are more than 200 years old.
The course is playable most days throughout the year. During the winter,
temporary greens are used whenever frost occurs.
Our goal is for everyone to experience a special day every time they visit the
club. Guests and members are requested to follow certain rules to ensure that
everyone enjoys their day:
The Golf Shop offers a wide variety of men and women’s golf clothing, golf
equipment and supplies. Clothing is available with and without club logos.
Practice facilities are considered the best in Western Canada and include a
large driving range with target greens, pitching green with sand traps, chipping
green and putting green. All facilities are close to the first tee. Balls are
available on the range for guests.
Shaughnessy provides practice facilities for the University of British Columbia
Golf teams, which compete in the Canadian University Golf Championships and in
the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States.
Shaughnessy is playable most days throughout the year. During the winter,
temporary greens are used whenever frost occurs.
