Seymour Golf & Country Club |
A semi-private club located in North Vancouver, our
members and public guests enjoy a meticulously groomed and challenging golf
course that intertwines through the towering old growth cedar and fir trees at
the base of Mount Seymour, only 15 minutes away from downtown Vancouver.
We're open to the public on Mondays and Fridays, excluding statutory holidays.
Full golf facilities are available, including a Driving Range and Short Game
Practice Area. After your game, join us on the deck or in the Grille Room for
drinks and a meal.
Make sure you take time to visit our Pro Shop, recently voted "Best Pro Shop in
Canada" by the CPGA. Lessons are available, and if you're in the market for new
clubs, ask one of the staff about our custom-fit program.
Seymour is a championship golf course well known for its undulating terrain,
tree lined fairways, small greens and exceptional conditioning. It's a players
course, with a deceptive level of difficulty.
Originally designed and built in 1953, Seymour has constantly been taking steps
to enhance the design and playing characteristics of the course. Golf course
architect Ted Locke has assisted with design changes in the past and continues
with us in the future. The emphasis of the club's long term direction has been,
and will continue to be, the constant improvement of the golf course.
From the championship tees, Seymour plays to a yardage of 6389. From the Blue
and the White tees the yardage is 6032 and 5659 respectively. While these
yardages may seem short in comparison to yardages we hear about on the PGA Tour,
we can assure you that in combination with the hilly terrain, the tree-lined
fairways and the fast greens, there is more than enough yardage to test the most
skilled of players.
We have recently re-opened our newly renovated front nine, which has just
undergone a $3 million refurbishment, including new greens, new bunkers, new tee
boxes, improved drainage and an industry-leading practice game facility. |
