Fraserview Golf Course |
| Fraserview Golf Course is an 18 hole fully public facility
in the heart of the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia. It is open
year round.
Public Course
Total No. of Holes: 18
Originally opened in 1934 and redesigned in 1997, the course offers a mature
course feeling in a west coast setting. Hidden away by an urban forest on a 225
acre site, this well-maintained course was designed by renowned Canadian
architect Thomas McBroom. It offers a variety of challenges for golfers of all
skill levels.
Overlooking the Fraser River from the southeast slope of Vancouver, the course
offers topographic changes along majestic tree-lined fairways. A one and a half
acre pond, large stream openings and the challenge of crossing Vivian Creek
before attempting the 18th green, add to the Fraserview experience.
Fraserview recently won bronze in the “Best Public Course in Canada” category,
and was voted one of the “Most underrated golf courses in Canada” by the
SCOREGolf Magazine Golfer’s Choice Awards. This popular course also has received
designation as a certified Audubon sanctuary as it is a significant habitat for
birds in an urban setting.
With a first class driving range, practice putting greens and a complete staff
of C.P.G.A. instructors, Fraserview is the place to go to improve all facets of
your game.
Earl Francis Pro Shop operates the golf shop and driving range at Fraserview for
the Vancouver Parks Board. Their mission is to create an exceptional experience
for all golfers who visit the facility. They are also dedicated to improving
understanding of the game through an extensive teaching program at the
Fraserview Learning Academy.
Earl Francis has been the Head Golf Professional since April 15th, 1976. There
have only been five Golf Professionals since Fraserview’s inception. These
gentlemen were Fred Wood, Alf Tate, Roy Heisler, Doug McAlpine, and now Earl
Francis.
Fraserview has a proud history of Men's and Ladies clubs as well as developing
many strong junior golfers.
Whether you are a resident of the Lower Mainland or a visitor to the area,
Fraserview is a selection for your next round that you will not regret.
