| We're off to Vancouver next May and want
to stay in 5* hotel. Any recommendations? A five
star hotel is hard to come by as all the hotels listed are like 5 star hotels to
the average mortal, but there is certain criteria that must be met in order to
achieve that rating some of that criteria makes no sense in really defining what
each person values in getting what they believe is a 5 star experience.
In Canada by the way they do not use the star rating they use the Diamond
rating. If you want to experience one of the best 4 diamond hotels try the
Wedgewood Hotel. here is what they say
"The Wedgewood Hotel & Spa continued in its award-winning fashion this year,
being named “#1 Hotel in Vancouver” by Travel + Leisure Magazine for the second
consecutive year, and Bacchus receiving the “Best Bar & Lounge in Vancouver”
from the Vancouver Restaurant Awards for the eighth consecutive year, as well as
being awarded “Best Hotel Dining in Vancouver” again!"
In 2007 the Wedgewood joined the prestigious Relais & Chateaux association,
which is recognized as "The collection of the world's finest restaurants and
hotels". |

What's the best hotel in Vancouver?
It depends on what you are looking for the Westin
Bayshore is a great Resort hotel right next to Stanley Park. The Pan Pacific is
beautiful sitting right at Canada Place. The Wedgewood Hotel is a smaller
boutique hotel that is very popular or if you to go somewhere kind of funky the
Opus in Yaletown would be it.
price wise the Century Plaza is right downtown with all rooms being suites and a
great location for the price. |
| Vancouver, BC Suburb Hotels?
I'm planning a trip to Vancouver, BC and would like to find a hotel in a
suburban area. It would be best if it was farther away from the airport (because
of the noise). Any suggestions?
North Vancouver has a wide selection of fine hotels and
Attractions to choose from. Located on Vancouver's North Shore, everyone is only
minutes from downtown by seabus.
Coquitlam is 30 minutes east of Vancouver with several unique hotels and
accessible by skytain as well as in Burnaby which is
directly east of Vancouver and easily connected by Sky Train in 20 min.

Horseshoe Bay Ferry?
How long is the ride from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay?
The ride I guess you know by now it is 1 hour and 35
mins.
I would recommend that you go to their web site and reserve ahead of time. you
must be there no later than 30 mins from departure time and no earlier than 60
min. If you do not want to spend the extra $15 and miss the ferry depending on
the day and time I have heard 1-3 sailing waits during peak times, which could
mean 2-5 hours in your car. Something else worth doing if you are on the right
ferry is having the buffet which in itself is average but the view on the ferry
cruising over and having a bite to eat is priceless. The buffet depending on
time of day is under $20 at dinner. Not all the ferries have the buffet though.
What is the drinking age in Vancouver, BC Canada?
my boyfriend and i are going to Canada memorial day weekend to Vancouver
we are both 20 but are they strict there about the clubs and bars? or can we
just walk right in no problem???
The legal drinking age is 19 but like everywhere else you need good photo ID.
The problem about walking right in is where the challenge is especially if you
go downtown you can expect to line up at most bars or clubs anyways. If you want
something quieter like a hotel lounge there would be no problem with the walk
right in part or head down to Yaletown there are some neat pubs and drinking
spots and if you go earlier in the evening you will have no problem finding a
great spot. I guess it just depends what you are into. Another unique area would
be is Granville Island lots of bars right on the water. |
