Vancouver is Canada’s third largest city and one of its most spectacular
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range,
Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city with a hometown feel. Perched on
nature’s edge the marathon course follows the natural shoreline of the
city. Almost an island, the City is surrounded on three sides by the
waters of False Creek, English Bay and Burrard Inlet.
A paved spectator-friendly course starting on Pacific Boulevard at the
south side of BC Place Stadium. Runners run out and back in the inner
harbour of False Creek, through Strathcona and into beautifully forested
Stanley Park. Exit at English Bay then cross the Burrard Street Bridge
to the spectator-filled cafe, beaches and beautiful homes of Kitsilano,
before returning to the finish at BC Place Stadium. Some sloping hills
and Burrard Bridge with 100’ elevation is crossed 2 times |
