host Canada Day on July 1 every year. Canada Day at Canada Place is
Canada's official West Coast birthday celebration. This award winning
event is the largest Canada Day event outside of our nation's capital in
Ottawa, attracting upwards of 80,000 people each year.

CANADA DAY FIREWORKS
The Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks Show will be a spectacular two
barge high-altitude fireworks display. One barge will be located in Coal
Harbour and viewable from the North Shore, Canada Place and Vancouver.
The second barge will be located off the shores of West Vancouver
Seawall and viewable from both West Vancouver and parts of Vancouver.
Canada Place event attendees are able to see both fireworks shows with
the Coal Harbour barge dominating the foreground and the West Vancouver
barges visible in the background.
The 25 minute show will be a unique multi-community event allows guests
from several communities to view the incredible display. The show is a
perfect way to end daytime Canada Day celebrations at Canada Place, in
West Vancouver and North Vancouver and throughout the surrounding
communities.

SALMON FESTIVAL IN STEVESTON VILLAGE
Billed as Canada's Biggest Little Birthday Party, the Salmon Festival in
Steveston draws more than 75,000 people annually. At 10 a.m. a parade of
floats, marching bands, vintage cars and local dignitaries winds its way
from Garry Point Park through the quaint streets. Cruise the boardwalk
or check out the entertainment and attractions. There's a Japanese
cultural show, a martial arts demonstration, a children's festival and
carnival rides. One event you don't see everyday is the King of the
Fraser, a contest to crown the best fishing-net mender. Hungry? Join the
lineup at the famous salmon barbeque, where over 545 kilograms of wild
salmon filets are grilled over an open fire. So good, it's always sold
out.

CANADA DAY IN SURREY
Western Canada's largest Canada Day party is set to rock the Cloverdale
Millennium Amphitheatre. It kicks off at 10 a.m. with lots of family
oriented activities and performers. Children's performers will keep the
little ones entertained, as will a midway featuring tot-friendly rides
and bouncy castles. Older kids will enjoy the action zone and BMX bike
demo. At night, Vancouver rock bands Loverboy and the Payola$ will take
viewers to an '80s nostalgia trip with free evening concerts. The
fun-filled day ends with a loud bang at 11 p.m. with a fireworks show
simulcast on radio station Rock 101.

Celebrate Canada Day, don your red and white duds and head to White
Rock’s promenade for a Peninsula-based cultural and family-oriented
celebration. Enjoy live music, dancing, artisan displays, children’s
activities and more. There’s even a kid’s sandcastle competition on East
Beach. And don’t forget cake!
