February 21 - 24 2008
It's time to interrupt those winter blahs with the third annual Winterruption
festival on Granville Island. Granville Island and the Coastal Jazz and Blues
Society have once again assembled a great line up of performers, events and
workshops for the festival. The island will soon come to life with plenty of
free music, theatre, film, visual arts and culinary events.
While the rest of the country is snowed under at this time of year, winter in
Vancouver is a distinctive yet unpredictable mix of the elements. From the
beautiful blooming cherry blossoms and tulips, to the chilly rain, warming sun,
or even the occasional dusting of snow, we want to celebrate winter no matter
what form it takes. Welcome to our third annual Winterruption, a unique twist on
the “Canadian” Winter Festival! Winterruption interrupts your winter blahs with
music, theatre, film, literary, culinary, and visual arts. This multi-faceted
arts & culture festival will tempt you to discover and celebrate Vancouver’s
vibrant creative community.
