We enjoyed our stay. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. We liked
the hardwood floor in our room, having a fridge and microwave, the daily
complimentary breakfast in the adjoining restaurant every morning, and the
basket of fruits we received upon checking in. There were several little shops
and restaurants nearby, and the bus stop was just a 2 minute walk. Overall we
had a nice and relaxing stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a fortnight on a recent visit to relations living
nearby. This hotel really does the basics very well. Our room was clean,
comfortable and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was of a good
standard and gave us a great start to each day. We didn't have a car so had to
rely on public transport - this was no real inconvenience as there is a frequent
bus service into downtown (bus route 135) which passes just in front of the
hotel and only takes about 20 minutes. There is also a great choice of
restaurants very close to the hotel - Burgers Etc does wonderful burgers and
Sfinaki is a good Greek restaurant.
Where this hotel really excels is with the friendliness and helpfulness of its
staff and particularly the reception staff. If I'm ever in Vancouver again (and
it is a truly wonderful city to visit) I would happily stay here again.

We arrived on a Saturday night, had to park in back and walk around with our
luggage to the front, past loud obnoxious smokers from the bar next door. Hotel
is sandwiched between bar and very large liquor store. No elevator. That being
said, staff was great and rooms were small but updated and clean. Nice
breakfast.

If you don't have a car, don't even consider staying here. This location is only
convenient for people who are planning to go around with a car. There is a bus
stop right in front of the hotel and it's within 20 minutes to downtown.
However, on your way to downtown, you will pass the most ghetto neighborhood in
Vancouver (East of Hasting St.) and it will be kind of dangerous especially at
night.
The other thing is there is no elevator in this hotel. We stayed with our
parents who are aged over 60. It's very unfriendly for them to live in a hotel
with no elevator and we have to carry their luggage upstairs (one and a half
floor height of steps).
Lastly, I have to check out my room one night earlier due to some emergency but
because I booked it through Expedia with the unpublished hotel rate (which I
strongly recommended not to do that because the discount I got is less than 20%
off and there are too many restrictions), I wasn't able to get refund for the
last night. That is okay since I recognized I shouldn't book it with Expedia.
What I was upset about is when I was checking out, I asked for a receipt to show
I already checked out my room so I won't be responsible for any room service
charge should anyone else got into my room for the last night , the receptionist
promised to send me an email but she never did!
Because of all the above, my stay with this hotel is totally not enjoyable. (we
booked three rooms for a wedding!) If I could chose again, I would stay at Delta
Burnaby instead.
Room Tip: Ask for rooms not facing the Hasting road. The hotel is only two floor
high so the noise from the major road is very noticeable.

GREAT bang for your buck. Service excellent. Quiet comfortable rooms, VERY
clean, easy and free parking, close to restaurants and eateries. We stay there
when we visit our daughter, an SFU student. Can't beat the location. The sports
bar / restaurant associated with the hotel is friendly and not in the least bit
sketchy. You will be pleased with your find! |
