Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Express Burnaby at Metrotown
6 November 2011
I stayed at this hotel for one night while visiting a local friend who
recommended this hotel due to the convenient location and free parking.
After parking in the underground lot, I went upstairs to the lobby where
the clerk cheerfully and quickly checked me in. My room was on a high
floor away from the elevators as requested on my reservation.
The hotel is immediately adjacent to the Metrotown mall, with numerous
restaurants, department stores, grocery stores, and shops. Fortunately I
had already eaten because most of the mall closes at 9pm on Saturday.
Light sleepers might be bothered by the Skytrain station across the
street (train noise and platform announcements). Everything in the room
was the usual excellent HI Express offering. The free WiFi signal was
strong with no slowness. Lighting was good but there was a shortage of
unused outlets to plug in my laptop and phone.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is close enough to downtown to be a
good choice if you need free parking or use Skytrain to get around. The
free breakfast and adjacent grocery stores and restaurants make it a
good pick for budget-conscious families too.

After having a rough experience at this hotel I tried again and was
quite pleased. The bed was fabulous and there was plenty of hot water
unlike my previous experience. Friendly professional staff.

We spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel Vancouver
Metrotown. Room was very nice, seemed to be renovated and breakfast was
good, typical Holiday Inn-Express breakfast.
Location is perfect, directly connected to the Skytrain station - in 15
to 20 minutes you reach Vancouver downtown. Underground parking was
free, staff very friendly and helpful.
Overall a good choice - we are positively surprised every time we stay
in a Holiday Inn Express :-)

My mom, sisters, and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. We chose
it because of it's location and price, and also because we seem to have
pretty good luck with Holiday Inn's. If you're looking for location,
this is it. Located in Metrotown Mall, it's directly across from the sky
train, and the bus loop. It's centrally located to anywhere you need to
go.
The rooms, as usual with Holiday Inn's are clean, comfortable, and cozy.
The beds are extremely comfortable and has a choice of firm or soft
pillows, labeled so you know which is which.
The breakfast is normal for a free continental. Sausages, scrambled
eggs, hard boiled eggs, a pancake maker, pastry's and breads. Cold
cereals and youghurts, the norm.
The only slight complaint, was our room faced the sky train which was
kind of loud, but I'm a light sleeper and it only bothered me in the
morning when I started to wake up.
