Review of the Accent Inn Burnaby

Moderate to inexpensive rates, considering it is only 10 minutes from
Metrotown mall. Friendly, personable staff that greeted us with respect
and a smile every time we saw them. Spacious, clean, cozy rooms with
full air conditioning/heater and optimal lounging space. Cash deposits
is a big plus, and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly, losing the
tough demeanor the rest of the area seemingly had at night. Even if you
have worries, the parking lot is secured by a patrol officer 24 hours.
Close to Gilmore Skytrain station, and 2 major highways. Will return to
if in the area, a definite 5 star YES from myself.
Room Tip: Flirt with the girls, be friendly to the gentlemen. My
associate and I did that, ended up with a kitchenette every night.

The motel is located 5 minutes walk from the sky train station which
brings you downtown Vancouver in 12 minutes. Therefore, it is very
convenient since you have free parking and reasonable rates. The staff
is very friendly and the hotel is clean. If you get a room away from the
street - even better.

This is our second Accent Inn stay in the past two months. The first was
in Victoria B.C. and the second in Burnaby. My review for Accent Inn,
Victoria is on line. This review is for the Accent Inn in Burnaby.
There are five Accent Inns in B.C. and I am sorry that there are not
more. Accent Inn in Burnaby was very, very good. Staff were excellent;
friendly, and we checked out a day earlier without a problem. The ABC
Restaurant is a fine place for breakfast and perhaps lunch but you can
do better for dinner. The sky train was not a five minute walk for older
folk, but a ten minute walk. Not a problem. If you are using public
transportation you get it all for 24 hrs at $9.00 per person. Saves a
lot of hassle and you have the whole city to yourself, plus the small
passenger boat that takes you over to the North Shore (Lonsdale) where
there is a large market and a good place to have lunch. The boat is
within the transportation system and the sky train takes you withn the
complex. Do not, repeat, do not take public transportation without a
ticket. City police get off and on transportation systems. The fine is
high. If the other three Accent Inns are in an area that we would be
overnight, we will choose them.

We stayed a total of 11 nights in this hotel. It is in Burnaby right at
the border with Vancouver. We are entirely satisfied: spacious rooms,
nice garden, next to decent restaurant, plenty of parking space but
above all devoted and friendly staff (no exceptions). Always a handyman
around the building. You have a feeling of security, even as you are in
an urban area. When in the area we will pick no other place.

I have been staying at the Accent Inn Burnaby on a monthly basis for the
past 4 years and have nothing but positive things to say about this
hotel. The staff are very friendly and always remember me (even though
I'm only there 1 day out of the month). The rooms are always extremely
clean (I'm very picky too), and the rooms are very comfy. The location
is close to Vancouver and very accessible to the main freeway which
makes it easy to get into the city for meetings and back out again at
the end of the day to where there is enough space to safely park your
car (for free) outside in the very large parking lot. There is lots of
greenery around and feels a little like home away from home. The ABC
Country Restaurant next door has the most amazing meals (I am constantly
amazed at the food they provide; far above expectations) and their
take-out packaging is even all recyclable / environmentally green. I've
never had an issue with the signal strength of the 'free' wireless in
all the rooms and if you watch tv, they have flat screens (many rooms
with 2) that have lots of tv and movie choices. There is also an
exercise room and large hot-tub/sauna for free use and I've used on many
occasions.
Above all, the price is very good as I've stayed in $300+ a night rooms
in downtown Vancouver and they don't compete with the rooms this hotel
offers as you can actually get a quiet night's sleep in this location as
well.
I highly recommend Accent Inn Burnaby to anyone traveling to the
Vancouver area on business or with the family. (I've brought my family
many times and rented the rooms with a full kitchen and separate room.
Very spacious for a family of 4+). |
