This hotel is not the most attractive from the sidewalk, but inside was really
nice. The fruit basket on arrival was a really nice touch and the room was
spotlessly clean. We had good connection to the internet and everything worked.
Good value for money. I look forward to staying again.

My partner and I stayed at this boutique hotel in August 2011, we absolutely
loved this place! We had never visited Canada before and found the people in
Vancouver friendly and helpful. The staff at the Howard Johnson, in particular
Mari and Katie very approachable and would go out of their way to offer help and
advice. There was always lots of food available at breakfast even if we arrived
downstairs a bit later. The hotel was always very clean and well presented. I
would stay there again and recommend this hotel as excellent value!!

Don't be fooled by the rather pedestrian exterior and the fact that the hotel is
attached to a bar and liquor store. Property is quiet and clean! Staff was
helpful and attentive. Free parking [don't pay for parking in back lot!!!!] and
free Wi-Fi are very nice extras that most 4/5 star properties charge you for...
And they gave us a free fruit basket, too! Will definitely stay here again.

I was there 18 nights, received complimentary fruit basket on arrival, and
bottled water daily,
a continental daily breakfast ( which was great for a long stay) The hotel was
well decorated
with good bed's and linens, very clean. Friendly staff and good service. Within
walking distance of some of Vancouver's greatest eateries, market gardens,
bakeries and deli's. Free Wifi, personal laundry on site, fridge and microwave,
Good Deal for the price. would highly recommend it and will stay again.

Seems like everyone wanted early check-in this day, but a no-show housekeeper
made that not possible. Returning at 3 the line was huge so I came back almost
an hour later where finally it was an uneventful, quick process.
I was very pleasantly surprised upon entering my room. No dirty carpet (probably
laminate), a nice flat screen TV that was actually set up properly, awesome
air-conditioning, a fridge, microwave, free internet, great comfy bed...Really,
for the price this was a very good deal.
There are a lot of restaurants nearby, as well as a pub and liquor store
attached to the hotel so you pretty much don't have to drive once you are
settled in (and parking was free),
I didn't try the free breakfast but that would just add to the value. Of course,
getting a reduced internet rate made this all that much more appealing.
